yes, thats true, but his phrasing and articulation is more like coltrane, than like sonny or joe henderson. he listenend to john coltrane a lot, when he was a child.

although i would agree that coltrane is a huge influence on brecker, i would say that coltrane influenced his playing later on. this loks like it was before any of his solo albums. so i would say during this time period his main influences were henderson and sonny.
